Records

Procedure to obtain a copy of public records including Local Background Checks

You may make the request in person by coming to the Sheriff’s Office Administration Building in person and making the request, a copy will be furnished immediately.  If the case is under investigation, the request will not be returned, however, you will be notified in person.

You may also make a written request via US Mail.  Please ensure that you provide a self addressed stamped envelope sufficient for such requested document(s).  Upon receipt of the mailed request, the appropriate research will be conducted and the requested document(s) will be returned via US Mail within 5 business days.  If the case is under investigation, the request will not be returned, however, you will be notified via return mail.

You may also conduct a background check through the Florida Department of Law Enforcement which will contain any and all criminal arrests information for the entire State of Florida.  Please click here to process such a request

Current fees for public records requests

 

The fee for a public records request is .15 cents per copy or .20 cents per two sided copy.  A Local Records Check fee is $2.00 and is charged as a result of time spent conducting any and all necessary research.
