Are You Okay?
Sheriff Stuart Whiddon has started a new safety initiative to assist senior citizens or homebound patients living alone. It is called the “Are You Okay? program”. This program is a very effective tool for senior citizens and the law enforcement community.
Once you enroll in the program, our computerized system will place a call to your house every day at a predetermined time chosen by you. All you have to do is answer the phone and you will be greeted by a recorded message. After you hear the message, simply push one of the twelve buttons on the phone. By doing this it verifies that you are okay and do not need emergency services.
If for any reason you do not answer your phone, we will call you back in 15 minutes. If you still do not answer we will physically check on you at your residence, giving you the peace of mind that someone is coming to help you. The program is very flexible, you tell us when to start and stop the program as to accommodate your lifestyle and when you are at home. This program is FREE:
to enroll all you have to do is request an enrollment form at the front desk, ask a deputy to bring one to your residence, or print out the below enrollment form and bring it to the Sheriff's Department.Click here for the PDF copy of the Enrolment Form.
